Our Guide To Charlotte’s Food Truck Friday: 4 Tips Before You Head Over

By offering everything from burgers to brownies, Charlotte’s Food Truck Friday has swiftly become a favorite pre-weekend activity for locals. The event has been happening every Friday night since 2012, and the various participants have definitely made a name for themselves. With the event crowd topping out at close to a thousand each week, Food Truck Friday can be daunting if you have never been before. Here are four ways to get the most out of this lively experience:

Early Bird Gets the Worm The key to having the most options and variety is to arrive early. This will give you plenty of time to see all of the options without getting lost in the sea of people. If crowds aren’t your cup of tea, getting there early guarantees you still have a great way to get the full experience, minus the plethora of people. Additionally, there is the advantage of having the food trucks fully stocked pre-crowd. Arriving early also gives you a better chance of finding a coveted parking spot.

BYOB Fancy your favorite brew to go along with that Papi Queso grilled cheese? If you’re wanting to save a little money and time in lines, bring your own drinks! BYOB is encouraged by Food Truck Friday and is very common. Along with drinks, bringing essentials such as napkins and wipes is always a good idea.

Chairs Unless you’re a fan of sitting on the grass with a smoked brisket sandwich from Ooo Wee, bringing some fold chairs or a blanket to sit on can make the whole experience much more enjoyable. Bug spray is also a must especially when the weather warms up.

Dogs The only thing better than eating delicious food with friends is eating delicious food with your furry friend. Dogs are more than welcome to join Charlotte’s Food Truck Friday fun.
